Fares

Metro provides different ways to pay your fare! Fares vary depending on services and rider needs.

  • Cash or coinsPlease note that drivers are unable to make change, so we recommend having your exact fare when you board!
  • Tokens – Efficient and easy to use; One token = one ride.
  • Passes – Short- and long-term passes are available. Riders can purchase them physically or virtually.

Transfers: Transfers are free and must be requested at the time you board the first bus. The transfer is valid for 60 minutes from the time on the receipt and should be given to the driver of the last bus you board. Please do not fold, roll, or tear your receipt!

*  Renewable value card: the initial purchase price is $35; $5 for the card and $30 initially loaded onto the card. After your initial purchase, any amount of money may be loaded by the card holder.

Paying Your Way – Where Can I Purchase Tokens and Passes?

Metro offers affordable and convenient payment options to accommodate the needs of our community.

  • The Kalamazoo Transportation Center – Riders can purchase passes and tokens in various forms and quantities at the Metro customer service counter
  • Token Transit App allows you to purchase passes and individual rides from your mobile device. Cashless & contact-free – Just activate your pass as you board and show the screen to the driver.
  • Metro Link – Kalamazoo App – Riders can book rides, pay and track their Link vehicle in one convenient app
  • Token Vending Machines – Metro has eight token machines located throughout the community which are able to dispense 14 tokens for $20:
